Our Wall Street Bootcamp is a revolutionary program giving students the opportunity to work on real-world modeled projects. The program is designed to mirror the training and development path of an associate analyst at a Wall Street financial institution. Participants engage in professional development through financial analysis, industry analysis, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessments, and by applying business SWOT concepts to relevant business topics.

Brian Petrus, PHD
Advisor, Wall Street Bootcamp
Senior Advisor with extensive experience in the education sector, specializing in Human Resources and Project Management. Brian has supported the MBS Externship Exchange Program since 2020, empowering students to cultivate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies essential for their future career trajectories. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA.
Ben Nelson
Advisor, Wall Street Bootcamp
Advisor with experience in the financial services industry, focusing on applied finance and sustainable finance case studies offered through the Wall Street Bootcamp. Ben has supported the MBS Externship Exchange Program since 2017, helping students understand the connections between their academic programs and real-world applications. He currrently serves as a managing director for Moody’s Corporation in New York, N.Y.

Abstract:
The Wall Street Bootcamp project analyzed the company Netflix from five perspectives: strategy, investment, sustainability, data, and cybersecurity. The analysis understood the company’s business model and assessed the company’s strategy, including key metrics such as net subscriber trends, revenue growth, and profitability, as the management pursues a strategic shift. The main policies in question were the company’s decision to limit password-sharing and introduce a streaming plan with advertisements. Through this project, the effects of these changes were investigated in terms of company growth and management strategy, stock performance, environmental and social consequences, data collection practices, and cyber risks.

Abstract:
Coffee is a globally traded commodity with a complex supply chain. Charged with analyzing the global coffee industry through a variety of business and financial analyses, the Wall Street Bootcamp (WSBC) team will explore the countries and companies involved in the production and import/export processes, the different types of beans, and necessary growing conditions, and the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors associated with a company’s sustainability initiatives and claims. Our project goal is to perform a detailed ESG industry analysis through the investigation of several well-known coffee companies.

Abstract:
A multi-university (RU and Westminster College, PA), cross-disciplinary, team-based analysis of the Energy Sector. Sub-teams included: Renewable Energy & ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance); Financial Analysis & Modeling; Transportation & Engineering; Business Strategy & More. Students worked with a finance / bond rating expert from Wall St, who is an SVP & Global Group Credit Officer for ESG. He has led global corporate training of new analysts, and is an expert in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). This was a case study, where students interviewed and talked to experts in a variety of sectors including public policy, energy experts, corporate chief legal officer for a fortune 500 company, financial sector SMEs, and more.

The need to understand the magnitude of the supply chain issues and forecast future conditions has increased with the recent COVID-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine crisis. The team investigated analyzed what has caused these supply chain disruptions and how companies have altered operating procedures in response.

Abstract:
There is uncertainty around the effect of COVID-19 on the growth of the company under study, Axalta Coating Systems. The team sought to understand the current shift in market and analyze its effect on the client company. This was accomplished through researching Axalta retrospectively and prospectively through market trends in the overall paint coatings, automotive, and architectural industries. Ratings were assigned as determined by the risk profile generated.
