Partner application Process
Review the requirements and follow the steps below to apply as a partner for the externship program.
Required Form Information
When applying, please be prepared to provide:
Project information and details
Availability for weekly student team meeting
Project plan and required tools
If the project requires a non-disclosure agreement
Follow These Steps To Apply
1 __ Learn More
- Set up a meeting (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.) with us to learn more about the program and discuss your project ideas. Feel free to contact Emma Leary at emma.leary@rutgers.edu.
- Additionally, many prospective mentors find it helpful to attend our end of semester Lightning Talk Presentations. You can find the current semester Light Talk Presentation schedule on our MBS Events page.
2 __ Fill Out Project Form
- Fill out our project application form.
- Additionally, you can view the application questions beforehand here.
- It’s most helpful to submit the form close to the application deadline for that corresponding semester.
- For the spring semester, the application deadline will be early January
- For the summer semester, the application deadline will be early May
- For the fall semester, the application deadline will be early August
- Specific semester deadline dates will be communicated to you and posted on our website.
3 __ Project Review
- After we receive your project form, we’ll review and follow up with any additional questions or clarifications if needed.
- Additionally, during the matching process we might defer your project to another semester if we feel it’s more appropriate.
4 __ Semester Start
- As we get close to the start of the semester, we’ll reach out to share some important semester information.
- After our students are matched to their projects, your next email correspondence will come from your assigned project advisor(s) to set up the team’s kickoff meeting.
