Virginia prefers to go by her nickname, Ginny, and is a retired registered nurse of 39 years. She attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Biology.
Ginny initially began her career in a small community hospital where she received experience in various specialty areas in the medical field. After 8+ years of nursing practice she transitioned to a prestigious health insurance company, Highmark BlueCross/BlueShield. She successfully held a variety of positions within the company from entry-level position of care/case manager to upper-level director position. Her background provides a comprehensive experience with physician practices, levels of care a health-insured member would move through the healthcare continuum, critical thinking skills, holistic perspectives of care needs, data presentation and interpretation to allow best practice outcomes, facilitated conversations with outside clients to achieve healthy outcomes for their employees, and incorporated/addressed public health concerns when needed. After 25+ years of experience in the healthcare field, she retired in 2018.
Retirement presented new opportunities including, but not limited to Professional Network Symposium with Westminster College (New Wilmington, PA), The National Kidney Foundation (Serving the Alleghenies Chapter), and participating as an Advisor in the MBS Externship Program with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
