Ben Nelson

Ben Nelson is Senior Vice President & Global Credit Officer for ESG at Moody’s Investors Service in New York, NY. Mr. Nelson is responsible for overseeing environmental, social, and governance scores and assessments for more than 11,000 non-financial corporates, financial institutions, infrastructure, regional and local governments, and sovereigns. Previously, Mr. Nelson spent fifteen years in Moody’s Corporate Finance Group where he held lead analyst responsibilities in basic materials, extractive, and industrial sectors. He also teaches regularly in the analyst training program and has been quoted extensively in publications like Bloomberg, Financial Times, and Wall Street Journal. For Rutgers, Mr. Nelson focuses on finance boot camps and public service projects that demonstrate Rutgers commitment to the community. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Moody’s Foundation and the Board of Trustees of Westminster College (PA).
